“Here’s a challenge: go watch Martha do stand up and try to think of a funnier MILF.” – Barry Taylor, The Edge 102.1

Martha O’Neill’s wry, often edgy comedy is at odds with her laid-back, likeable stage presence; a combination which has made her an audience favourite wherever she performs.

This Toronto native spent the first 10 years of her comedy career performing improv and sketch, but shifted her focus to stand up almost nine years ago and hasn’t looked back since.

She has performed all over Canada and as far away as Dublin and London.  Television appearances include “The Mom Show” and “’Til Debt Do Us Part”, both on the Slice Network and “Come Dine With Me Canada” on W Network.  On radio, she has been heard doing voice-overs for CBC News, contributing to BBC World Service and on Sirius/XM’s “Laugh Attack” and “Anything Goes”. Currently, she is the co-host of the “Mike Atom Drive Home Show” on 105.9 The Region.

In 2007, Martha was a semi-finalist in Q-107’s “Funniest Person with a Day Job” competition.  In 2009, she was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for “Best Stand Up Newcomer” and competed in both the 2010 and 2012 “World Series of Comedy” in Las Vegas. In 2013, Martha had her own comedy special as part of the “No Kidding!” series on iChannel.

Martha is also the Executive Producer and founder of SheDot Festival – Toronto’s Festival of Funny Women.

“She’s (also) really cute and the mom that a kid from a dysfunctional family always wishes they had”. – Johnny Hastings, comic and producer of “A Cabbagetown Comedy Showcase”
